The concentration of gold in the electrolyte. The concentration of gold in the electrolyte determines the number of gold cyanide ions that diffuse to the cathode surface, resulting in a low concentration of gold, slowing down the deposition rate of gold, reducing the recovery rate of gold, and subsequently reducing the current efficiency of electrolysis.

(1) The concentration of gold in the electrolyte.

(2) The concentration of sodium hydroxide in the electrolyte. Sodium hydroxide in the electrolyte can strengthen the electrolysis, especially when the concentration of cyanide ions is low. As the concentration of sodium hydroxide in the electrolyte increases, the deposition rate of gold accelerates and the recovery rate of gold increases.

(3) The liquid feeding speed of the electrolyzer. As the liquid feed rate increases, the gold deposition rate will increase, but the gold recovery rate will decrease.

(4)Cathode surface area. The increase in the surface area of the cathode will expand the contact area between gold cyanide ions and the cathode, which will help accelerate the deposition of gold and increase the recovery rate of gold.

(5) Stir the electrolyte. Stirring the electrolyte can cause turbulence in the electrolyte, thin the diffusion layer on the cathode surface, reduce concentration polarization, and improve the gold deposition rate.

(6) Tank voltage. As the cell voltage increases, the deposition rate of gold will accelerate, but the current efficiency will decrease. This is because the increase in cell voltage causes the decomposition of water and promotes the precipitation of other impurities in the electrolyte, which consumes electrical energy.

(7)Temperature. Increasing the temperature of the electrolyte will increase the conductivity of the electrolyte, speed up the diffusion of gold cyanide ions, and speed up the deposition of gold accordingly. The recovery rate of gold will be high, but too high a temperature will worsen the working environment.
