Pyrometallurgy of lead anode mud

Pyrometallurgy of lead anode mud
The pyrometallurgical treatment of lead anode mud mainly recovers precious metals through reduction smelting, oxidation refining and electrolytic extraction. First, the lead anode mud is subjected to reduction smelting to obtain precious lead, followed by oxidation refining to remove metal impurities such as bismuth, antimony, and arsenic, while recovering tellurium. Next, the refined precious lead is cast into gold-silver alloy plates, and 99.99% high-purity silver is purified through electrolytic separation, while the remaining anode mud is enriched with gold through nitric acid leaching and chlorination treatment. Byproducts such as tellurium are also recovered in this process to ensure maximum extraction of precious metals.
